What You Will Learn

Student teachers will gain a deep understanding of how to prepare the “right environment” for children aged 3–6, grounded in authentic Montessori principles. Each module includes interactive assignments, lesson planning, and practical presentations to ensure comprehensive learning.

📚 Core Montessori Curriculum

1. Exercises of Practical Life
Focuses on developing fine and gross motor skills, concentration, independence, and care for self and the environment. Activities include pouring, tying, lacing, sweeping, and more — all designed to build self-confidence and self-esteem.

2. Sensorial
Children learn through their senses, developing concepts like rough/smooth or long/short through hands-on materials. This builds a concrete foundation for abstract thinking.

3. Mathematics
Math is introduced through tactile, sensorial experiences using materials like number rods and bead chains. Concepts such as quantity, addition, and the decimal system are internalized through active manipulation.

4. Geometry
An introduction to shapes using Montessori materials such as geometric solids and cabinets. Children gain an intuitive understanding of spatial forms.

5. Language
Language is introduced phonetically using multisensory materials. Children move from identifying sounds to building words, writing in sand, and eventually reading and writing with confidence.

6. Cultural Studies
Includes history, geography, botany, zoology, and astronomy. Concepts are explored through hands-on projects like clay models of the earth’s layers, life cycle charts, and planet studies.

👀 Observations & Practical Experience

Observation is a vital part of Montessori teacher training. Student teachers will observe children in real or recorded Montessori settings to sharpen their ability to recognize developmental needs and respond with appropriate materials and guidance.

“The role of a teacher is to observe, guide, and create — not to control.”

At the end of each core subject, you’ll compile a graded album of notes and complete a hands-on project, ensuring you leave with both knowledge and practical tools to start your journey as a confident Montessori Pre-Primary guide.
